Applications for the Astana AI Film Festival will open in May 2026

Kazakhstan has announced the launch of applications for the first international film festival dedicated to movies created using artificial intelligence technologies — Astana AI Film Festival (AAIFF 2026). The organizers shared the news during a press conference in the capital. The central event of the festival will be an international competition of short films created with the use of AI. Creators from around the world will be able to participate, regardless of their professional experience or access to a studio.
