As per tradition, an honor guard was formed in the ceremonial hall to mark the visit of the distinguished guest. The presidential orchestra performed the national anthems of both countries. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Ilham Aliyev walked along the red carpet to the State Flag of Kazakhstan, after which the meeting between the heads of state in a narrow format began.
