Kryuchkov Plant
2 may 1984
During the Soviet era, it may come as a surprise, but enterprises in Alma-Ata also contributed to the production of automotive vehicles, including buses. The chassis were typically supplied by major factories such as the Gorky or Ulyanovsk automobile plants, while local factories—like the Kryuchkov Plant—handled the body assembly and final customization. This stage of production was commonly referred to as "dressing" the vehicles.
