Republic Square Renovation Completed in Almaty: What's Changed

The renovated public space has officially opened to visitors. Just a few months ago, much of the area was occupied by an informal parking lot. Today, it features pedestrian promenades, landscaped green spaces, decorative ponds, children's playgrounds, and recreational areas. The landscaping concept was developed by a British company, and the project was implemented following a "facade-to-facade" approach. The total area of the renovated public space covers 4.5 hectares.
