Shymkent Railway Station is the main transport hub of Shymkent city and an important part of the region's railway infrastructure. The station handles both passenger and freight transportation, connecting Shymkent with other major cities in Kazakhstan, as well as neighboring countries such as Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
Additionally, the station actively participates in the transport network that connects the southern part of the country with the central and northern regions, as well as international transport corridors.
