On October 12, 2022, the Sixth Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) took place in Astana, chaired by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The summit was attended by 52 delegations, including 13 heads of state and government, observers, and partner organizations. The key outcome of the summit was the adoption of the Astana Declaration on the transformation of CICA into a fully-fledged regional international organization, which is a strategic goal of Kazakhstan.
