Zerenda is a closed lake in the basin of the Esil River. It is located in the Zerendi District of the Akmola Region. The lake is distinguished by its picturesque nature, surrounded by dense coniferous low mountains. On the southwestern shore, there are holiday homes and summer camps for schoolchildren. The area of the lake is 11.9 km², its length is 6.1 km, width is 3.8 km, and depth ranges from 4 to 4.8 meters. The height of the southern and southwestern shores reaches 10 meters, while the western shore reaches 4 meters. The southern shore is cut by ravines and gullies. The water is fresh and suitable for drinking.
