#Sharyn
Sharyn Canyon, a natural landmark, stretches along the Sharyn River for 154 kilometers. The canyon is located approximately 195 km to the east of Almaty city. All the features of the Sharyn River are part of the Sharyn State National Natural Park, established on April 23, 2004. The canyon extends along the Sharyn River from the northeast to the southwest for 154 km. The landscape of this region is diverse. The waters of many rivers originating from the northern slopes of the Tien Shan — the Teriskei and Kungey Alatau ranges — merge into the Sharyn River, which becomes a powerful waterway and, passing through the Zhalanash Depression, cuts through the Torayghyr Mountain from the east, creating a magnificent canyon.
