Köbeituz is a saltwater closed lake located to the east of Lake Tengiz. It is situated 25 km northeast of the city of Ereymentau, in the basin of the Öletnі River. The lake lies at an elevation of 253 meters above sea level.
The shores of the lake consist of sandy and clayey, hilly plains. Its shores have a complex shape, and in years with higher water levels, they often change shape. From November to April, the lake freezes. The water in the lake is salty. It is replenished by rainfall and groundwater. The lake has water year-round.
