Born in early April 1871 (1886) in the village of Karaotkel, Akmola region. Kazhymukan Munaitpasov was a legendary Kazakh wrestler-hero, a multiple prize-winner at international competitions in French (Greco-Roman) and freestyle wrestling. He was the first Kazakh to bring worldwide recognition to the Kazakh school of wrestling.
