#Serik Zhumangarin

Serik Makashevich Zhumangarin was born on July 22, 1969, in the city of Aktobe. Since December 21, 2024, he has been serving as the Deputy Prime Minister — Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Education:

In 1993, he graduated from the Moscow Power Engineering Institute with a degree in Thermal Physics.
In 1997, he received a degree in Finance and Credit from the Karaganda State University named after E.A. Buketov.
In 2013, he earned an MBA from the International Academy of Business (IAB).

Career:

1993–2004 — Engaged in private business activities
2005–2006 — Deputy Head of the Department of Economy and Budget of the city of Aktobe
2006–2008 — Head of Department at the Agency for Regulation of Natural Monopolies
2008–2010 — Held senior positions in the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Kazakhstan
2010–2013 — Held leadership roles in "NADLoC" and the Ministry of Economic Development
2013–2014 — Vice Minister of Regional Development of Kazakhstan
2014–2017 — Chairman of the Committee for the Protection of Competition
2017–2019 — Vice Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan
2019–2020 — Minister in the Eurasian Economic Commission (in charge of competition issues)
2020–2022 — Chairman of the Agency for the Protection and Development of Competition
2022–2023 — Deputy Prime Minister — Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan
