#Burabay

Burabay is a national park located in the north of the Akmolinsk region, known to many. The mountains, lakes, and plains of Borovoe are full of tales and legends. The beautiful nature of Borovoe, with its mysterious landscape of pine forests, rocky mountains separated by lakes, high cliffs, stones, and peaks, creates incredible images in the imagination.
The Burabay National Nature Park was established in August 2000 by a decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Each rock in Borovoe has been given names based on legends and the peculiarities of their shape: Okzhetpes, Zhumbaktas. From one side, "Zhumbaktas" resembles a girl with braids, from another side — a woman with a headscarf, and from a third side — an old woman with wrinkles on her face.
In Borovoe, there are the lakes of Burabay, Shortandy, Uly Shabakty, Kishi Shabakty, and Kothyrkol. Also, between the Sary-Arka and Kokshetau mountains, there is a group of small lakes known for their crystal-clear water.
